Accompanied by her husband Brad Pitt, Jolie stood out among the crowd with her black and white lace dress.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie was supported by her husband Brad Pitt at the world premiere of her new movie "Unbroken". The red carpet event was held at State Theater in Sydney, Australia on Monday, November 17 night and attended by the war drama's stars Jack O'Connell, Miyavi and producer Matt Baer.

Jolie looked stunning and fresh in her strapless Gucci gown with lace details and fishtail hem. Before the screening, Jolie and Pitt took time to interact with fans, sign autographs and take numerous selfies with them. The event marked the couple's first public appearance together since their August wedding.

Jolie was brought to tears when red carpet host Emma Freedman read her a quote Zamperini said about her. Zamperini had met Jolie before he passed away in July. "Angelina became a great part of my life," he was quoted as saying. "She knows what she wants, and she knows what she's doing, and I trust her one hundred per cent. I have all the confidence in the world that 'Unbroken' will be a great film."

"Unbroken" was shot in Sydney and other locations around Australia last year. It tells the story of Olympian and war hero Louis "Louie" Zamperini (O'Connell) who, along with two other crewmen, survived in a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII-only to be caught by the Japanese Navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.

According to Variety, "reaction to the often-intense film was largely positive, with the black-tie audience gasping audibly at one particularly shocking maritime moment and the unrelenting visceral wartime brutality that punctuates Zamperini's tale of survival." The screening was closed with a warm applause from the audience.

"Unbroken" hits U.S. theaters on December 25.
