'Battlestar Galactica' Creator Glen A. Larson Dies at 77

The 'Knight Rider' creator lost his battle with cancer on Friday at the UCLA Medical Center in California.

AceShowbiz - American TV industry is mourning the loss of Glen A. Larson, a powerhouse storyteller in the 70's and 80's. The writer/producer passed away at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, California on Friday night, November 14 due to complications from esophageal cancer. He was 77.

Larson is known for creating hit series such as "Battlestar Galactica", "Magnum, P.I.", and "Knight Rider" among others. He got three nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards, two for "McCloud" and one for "Quincy M.E." He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1985.

In addition to enjoying a successful career on TV, Larson was also an accomplished singer and composer. He once grabbed a Golden Gramophone at the Grammy Awards for the original score of "Battlestar Galactica". He also composed theme songs for "Knight Rider" and "Six Million Dollar Man".

He is survived by his wife Jeannie, his brother Kenneth, and nine children from previous marriages. Memorial service would be announced soon, his son said.
