AceShowbiz - "True Detective" is slowly rounding out its cast line-up. Lolita Davidovich and James Frain have just landed recurring roles in the highly-anticipated second season of the HBO anthology series.

The two join Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch, who will tackle lead roles on the crime drama. Farrell is set to play a compromised detective, Vaughn will portray a career criminal, and Kitsch will star as a military veteran with his own share of violence and destruction.

Davidovich, who will also recur on FOX's midseason drama "Backstrom", will portray Kitsch's mother Nancy Simpson, a former showgirl continually sucking on cigarettes and margaritas as she mourns the loss of male sexual attention. As for Frain who is known for his role as vampire Franklin Mott on HBO's "True Blood", he will play Jeff Hunt, a ruthless police lieutenant.

Other actors set to star in the new installment of the Nic Pizzolatto-created series are Kelly Reilly, Abigail Spencer, Michael Irby and Leven Rambin. Rachel McAdams has been rumored nearing a deal to tackle the female lead role.

The second season of "True Detective" is set in California and will follow "three police officers and a career criminal" who "must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder." It is slated to air next year.
