The 'Inglourious Basterds' star reportedly will not be the main villain but will shake the core in another superhero movie.

AceShowbiz - "Inglourious Basterds" star Daniel Bruhl signed up for a role in "Captain America: Civil War", Marvel Studios announced on Friday, November 14. Under the deal, the actor could appear in other Marvel movies such as "Doctor Strange".

"With Daniel's ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes," said producer Kevin Feige of Marvel. No other details about the role were shared in the press release, but rumors are floating around that he would be a villain.

Deadline reported that the character "will also bring Robert Downey Jr. and his Iron Man character as central to the conflict of the new film." As many have known, the third "Captain America" movie may pit the titular character against Iron Man. Variety additionally reported that Bruhl's character would not be the main villain but "could be the top menace in Marvel's Dr. Strange."

Joe and Anthony Russo return to direct the third installment following "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" success. Chris Evans and Downey Jr. are back, joined by Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier. Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson are also expected to return. The pic will be released in theaters May 6, 2016.
