A slice of cake from Kate Middleton's wedding to Prince William, a blank wedding invitation and some dresses worn by Princess Diana are up for auction in December.

AceShowbiz - Some memorabilia from the royal family are up for auction. Dresses worn by Princess Diana as well as a slice of cake from Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding are among items which will go under the hammer in December. Sneak peaks at the dresses were shown on "Today" on Wednesday, November 12.

One of the dresses, a petal pink dress by Catherine Walker Princess Diana wore at the Savoy Theatre in London in 1993, is among the collection presented. It is estimated to fetch between $60,000 to $80,000. Another item which is up for auction is a burgundy wool coat dress by Caroline Charles which Diana wore in several occasions in the 1980s. It is expected to be sold between $20,000 and $40,000.

"In a case like this, you don't want to wear it. It's for a museum, or someone who's going to appreciate these is going to buy these in the auction," said Darren Julien, the President of Julien's Auctions, of the dresses.

The slice of cake from Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding is expected to be sold between $1,000 to $2,000. The Duchess of Cambridge keeps the top three tiers of the cake for herself and served one at Prince George's Christening.

A blank invitation from their wedding, printed on Queen Elizabeth II's personal stationary, is estimated to be sold at $1,000 to $2,000 at the auction which is set to take place at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills on December 5 and 6.
