Jason Aldean Removes New Album From Spotify

While his new album 'Old Boots, New Dirt' is no longer available, the country superstar's previous releases are still on the service.

AceShowbiz - Spotify nearly loses Jason Aldean too. Following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift, the country superstar pulled his newest album "Old Boots, New Dirt" from the streaming service on Monday, November 10.

The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 following its release in early October. In the first week of its arrival, it was streamed by more than three million Spotify users, setting a record for the best-ever debut for a country album.

On the streaming service, a note has now been added to the page where the tracks of the LP previously existed. "The artist or their representatives have decided not to release this album on Spotify," the message read. "We are working on it and hope they will change their mind soon."

Neither Aldean nor his label Broken Bow Records has explained the decision. However, some artists who have cut ties with Spotify, including Swift, are taking issue with the service's payment system.

For now, Aldean has only removed "Old Boots, New Dirt". His other albums are still available for streaming.
