'Warcraft' Movie Characters Officially Announced

The members of The Alliance and The Horde played by the cast members that include Dominic Cooper, Paula Patton and Toby Kebbel are officially revealed.

AceShowbiz - Although cast members for "Warcraft" have been announced and the movie has gone into production, the character lineup was kept under wraps until now. As director Duncan Jones attended BlizzCon to promote the upcoming project, Legendary Pictures revealed which orcs and warriors in the video game would be brought to the big screen.

The members of The Alliance include King Llane Wrynn (Dominic Cooper), Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel), Medivh (Ben Foster), Khadgar (Ben Schnetzer), Lady Taria (Ruth Negga) and Garona (Paula Patton). Meanwhile, Durotan (Toby Kebbel), Orgrim (Robert Kazinsky), Blackhand (Clancy Brown) and Gul'Dan (Daniel Wu) fight for The Horde.

Scripted by Charles Leavitt ("Blood Diamond") based on Blizzard's popular video game, the movie is set to hit U.S. theaters starting March 11, 2016.

THE ALLIANCE:

  • Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel): The lead protagonist of The Alliance, a war hero who has sacrificed everything to keep the people of Azeroth safe.
  • King Llane Wrynn (Dominic Cooper): The leader of The Alliance city of Stormwind and a beacon of hope to its people in a time of darkness.
  • Medivh (Ben Foster): A mysterious and reclusive protector known as "the Guardian" who wields formidable power.
  • Khadgar (Ben Schnetzer): A gifted young mage embarking on a daring search for the truth.
  • Lady Taria (Ruth Negga): The royal Queen of Stormwind, King Llane's great love and most trusted counsel.
  • Garona (Paula Patton): A strong-willed survivor who is caught between the Alliance and the Horde and must decide where her true loyalty lies.
THE HORDE:
  • Durotan (Toby Kebbel): The lead protagonist for The Horde, the noble Chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan battling to save his people and his family from extinction.
  • Orgrim (Robert Kazinsky): Durotan's right hand and a brave warrior destined to wield the Doomhammer: a weapon of orc legend.
  • Blackhand (Clancy Brown): One of orc-kind's most fearsome and titanic warchiefs known as "The Destroyer."
  • Gul'Dan (Daniel Wu): A supreme orc ruler, fueled by a dark magic that even he cannot control.
