AceShowbiz - NBC's "A.D." has found its Jesus Christ. Juan Pablo di Pace is cast as the famous figure on the upcoming miniseries that serves as a sequel to History Channel's hit original series "The Bible".

"Hello all. Tomorrow there's an exciting announcement from NBC... (It's not Dallas, sorry folks)," the Argentine actor teased about the casting news on Tuesday, November 4. He tweeted again on Wednesday, "Humbled and happy to be playing HIM," adding a link to an article about his involvement on the NBC miniseries.

di Pace had a recurring role on NBC's short-lived drama comedy series "Camp" and was a series regular on TNT's recently canceled "Dallas". He is joined by Richard Coyle (as Caiaphas), Vincent Regan (as Pilate), Adam Levy (as Peter), Emmet Scanlan (as Saul), Chipo Chung (as Mary Magdalene), Jodhi May (as Leah, wife of the High Priest Caiaphas), Joanne Whalley (as Claudia, wife of Pilate), Greta Scacchi (as Mother Mary) and Babou Ceesay (as John) in the cast.

"A.D." picks up where "The Bible" left off, continuing the greatest story ever told and exploring the exciting and inspiring events that followed the Crucifixion of Christ. The 12-episode miniseries is executive produced by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, who also shepherded "The Bible".

"A.D." is set to premiere Sunday, April 5 on NBC.
