Channing Tatum Boards 'The Hateful Eight' in Major Role
Movie

Although details are scarce, it has been reported that the 'Foxcatcher' star is eying a big role in the Quentin Tarantino western pic.

AceShowbiz - Channing Tatum is going places. Already projected to take the superhero role in Marvel's "Gambit" and a math genius in a movie based on Jason Padgett's memoir "Struck by Genius", the actor is circling a major role in Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight".

Deadline, which first reported the news, said no more of the casting. If it were true, then Tatum will be part of a star-studded movie which is scheduled to start its principal photography in January. Jennifer Jason Leigh was already announced as the lead actress in the film, joining Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell, Amber Tamblyn and Tim Roth among others.

"The Hateful Eight" follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.

The pic almost did not happen after the script leaked and Tarantino threatened to shelve the movie. But then the director decided to move on with the project, recruited actors and secured Weinstein Company to distribute the movie in fall 2015.
