'Sons of Anarchy' Actor on Latest Death: It's 'Freedom'

The actor, whose alter ego was killed off in the most recent episode of the show, says he hadn't predicted his character's death.

AceShowbiz - The number of victims in the last season of "Sons of Anarchy" keeps piling up. In the latest episode aired on November 4, the show bid farewell to another original character who, ironically, was voted to most likely survive by fans of the series.

[SPOILER ALERT!] Mark Boone Junior's Bobby Munson was gunned down by August Marks. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Boone claims he didn't see it coming. "Seven years of this show, everybody got in the habit of not trying to predict anything," he says, "I think that was the way to go about life in this world. It was a shot in the gut, there's no question about that. But I recovered fairly quickly, I think. [Shouts] Free! Free at last!"

After enduring tortures by crime boss and drug kingpin Marks, death is probably the best for Bobby as Boone likens it to "freedom." "I thought, 'If Jax had reacted differently, Bobby probably wouldn't be dead. And the reason probably that Jax didn't react differently was that Bobby wasn't there to counsel him!' I guess Bobby was just meant to go," he says.

Saying that "it ain't cool to die" in "any way, whatever way," Boone thinks the episode was very emotional for the cast. "I just think the scene between Charlie and Tommy [Flanagan] over the blood is really indicative of how brutal they took it. And then you got DL, David Labrava, literally sobbing in the back of the van. [Laughs] I don't think any of that was acting, really," he shares.

Boone admits watching the episode torn himself in half. "I thought I had definitely dealt with it, and then I watched this episode and I was torn right in half as if I had died the death that I had died in John Carpenter's 'Vampires'," he says. "That's what I felt like. In that one, I was literally split in half. That's what it felt like today when I watched this episode. I tell you I was very surprised by it."

Next week in "Faith and Despondency", love is in the air for Samcro members but death wins the day. The episode airs Tuesday, November 11 at 10 P.M. on FX.
