The Irish band will bring 'numerous surprises' during their week-long stay on the late-night show to promote their album 'Songs of Innocence'.

AceShowbiz - U2 is returning to "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to continue promoting their latest album, "Songs of Innocence". The band will be joining host Jimmy Fallon and house band The Roots for a week-long residency that starts on Monday, November 17.

During the residency, the Irish rockers will bring "numerous surprises." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Bono-fronted band will also be expected to make appearances in comedy sketches and online exclusives.

The group previously appeared on "The Tonight Show" in February as one of the first guests on the late-night program. At that time, they performed atop the roof of 30 Rockefeller Plaza in the middle of New York City.

U2 is the latest band to participate in a week-long residency for a late-night show. In the same week the men serve as the musical guests on "The Tonight Show", fellow rock act Metallica will have their own residency on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson". Last month, Foo Fighters spent five nights performing on "Late Show with David Letterman" to promote their album "Sonic Highways" and their HBO documentary series.
