CBS Sets Return and End Date of 'The Mentalist'

The final season of the Simon Baker-starring crime drama series will start November 30 and wrap up on February 18.

AceShowbiz - CBS has set the premiere date for the seventh and final season of "The Mentalist". The police procedural series starring Simon Baker will return for its swan song Sunday, November at 9:30 P.M. ET/9 PT, taking over the slot from "The Good Wife" temporarily.

When "The Good Wife" returns on January 4, 2015, "The Mentalist" will move to its regular time, Wednesdays at 8 P.M. ET/PT, starting on January 7. The show will take a final bow with a two-hour series finale set for February 18.

The network has also announced premiere date for the new seasons of "Undercover Boss", "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race". Emmy-winning show "Undercover Boss" will return with three specials Sunday broadcasts on December 14 at 8:30 P.M. ET/8 P.M. PT, December 21 at 8:30 P.M. ET/8 P.M. PT and December 28 at 8:30 P.M. ET/8 P.M. PT, before moving to its regular Friday slot (8 P.M. ET/PT) on January 2.

"Survivor" and "The Amazing Race", which will end their current seasons on Wednesday, December 17 and Friday, December 19 respectively, will both return with back-to-back 90-minute episodes on Wednesday, February 25 at 8 P.M. ET and at 9:30 P.M. ET. "The Amazing Race" will later move to its regular time slot on Friday, February 27 at 8 P.M. ET.

"One of the goals this season was to keep expanding our lineup of year-round, original programming and have fewer repeat cycles," says Kelly Kahl, senior executive vice president, CBS. "We're fortunate to have two popular, proven ratings winners in 'The Mentalist' and 'Undercover Boss' to seamlessly join our schedule."
