Griffin, however, is unsure about accepting the gig, saying, 'I don't know if the situation is correct at this time for me or right for me at this time.'

AceShowbiz - Weeks after it was reported that she was considered as a replacement for Joan Rivers on "Fashion Police", Kathy Griffin has finally confirmed the news. The actress/comedian tells Access Hollywood that she was indeed offered a spot on the E! fashion talk show.

"They did offer it to me," she says of the gig. However, she may not take the job as she explains that the timing may not be right. "I don't know if the situation is correct at this time for me or right for me at this time," she says.

Whoever gets picked to replace Rivers, Griffin hopes the show will "continue in the spirit of Joan's work." She adds of the late comedienne, "She brought a fearlessness and a brand of humor into our homes that we really need. Somebody's gotta be out there poking fun at the ridiculousness of all of this!"

E! announced in September that "Fashion Police" would continue without Rivers, who died on September 4 due to hypoxic arrest during laryngoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. The show will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12.
