The former Genesis member says he sent Adele the music he had worked on for her new album, but he never heard back from her.

AceShowbiz - Phil Collins' collaboration with Adele may not come to fruition. Earlier this year, the former Genesis member revealed that he was asked to write songs for her long-awaited LP. In a new interview with Q Magazine, he said he had worked on some music and sent it to the "Someone Like You" hitmaker but he never heard back from her.

"She gave me a piece of music to finish and at first I didn't know if I'd failed the audition as I didn't hear back from her," he told the magazine. "She said, 'No, no, I'm moving house and the baby's taking up a lot of my time, I'm not actually doing anything at the moment.' "

"And now I've heard there's a [new album] coming out. I'm not on it, I know that," Collins continued, adding, "She's a slippery little fish is Adele."

Adele's new album has been in the works for a while. She hinted at the LP's title and release date on her 26th birthday in May. At that time, she wrote on Twitter, "Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x."

However, a financial report by her label XL Recordings recently revealed that no Adele album was planned for 2014. So, fans are now hoping the follow-up to the massively successful "21" will arrive in 2015.
