Kelly Reilly, Abigail Spencer, Michael Irby and Leven Rambin Join 'True Detective'

AceShowbiz - "True Detective" adds more cast members for the upcoming season 2. Kelly Reilly, Abigail Spencer, Michael Irby, and Leven Rambin are tapped to join the previously-confirmed lead actors Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and Taylor Kitsch.

Farrell is set to play a compromised detective, Vaughn will portray a career criminal, and Kitsch will star as a military veteran with his own share of violence and destruction. Rachel McAdams is expected to take on the fourth lead role, police detective Ani Bezzerides. They must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.

According to Deadline, Reilly will play the self-possessed Morgan. Irby is poised to play Elvis Ilinca, the partner of McAdams' character at the police department. Rambin will likely play Sophia, a beauty with a history of drug problems, while Spencer is in line to portray Alicia, the survivor of a sexual attack.

Rumor has it, Reilly is finalizing a deal to play a regular role, while Spencer, Rambin, and Irby are lined up for recurring roles. Reilly and Spencer were originally in contention to play the female lead character. The coveted role eventually went to McAdams, but creator Nic Pizzolatto was so impressed with the two actresses that he decided to cast them in other roles.

"True Detective" will return next year. The first season starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
