After attending the screening of his new movie at the AMC Loews Boston Common, the actor flew to Philly to gave the same treat to college students at the Rave Cinemas University City 6.

AceShowbiz - Jake Gyllenhaal paid a surprise visit to his fans in several cities on Saturday, October 25 to promote his latest movie "Nightcrawler". In the afternoon, the actor showed up without prior announcement at the AMC Loews Boston Common, much to the moviegoers delight.

Audience thought writer-director Dan Gilroy would make appearance, but he couldn't make it in time for the screening. The crowd couldn't hide their excitement when Gyllenhaal appeared as the replacement, gathering around the "Brokeback Mountain" star to take pictures or shake hands.

After an interview with the Boston Globe as the Ritz-Carlton, Gyllenhaal departed Boston to fly to Philadelphia where he similarly surprised college students at the movie screening at the Rave Cinemas University City 6. He spoke in front of screaming fans and took selfies with some of them.

Gyllenhaal was joined by Gilroy for the promotional effort in the town. They reportedly had a dinner at Stephen Starr's Pod before the movie screening.

For the last stop that day, the "Prisoners" star took a flight to Washington, where he gave the similar treat to Georgetown students.

"Nightcrawler" centers on Lou Bloom (Gyllenhaal) who works as freelance camera crew. This driven young man chases news to the crime scenes, filming crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem that brings him into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling. In the breakneck, ceaseless search for footage, he becomes the star of his own story.

The drama movie will open in limited theaters starting October 31.
