James Franco Hires Megan Fox, Seth Rogen and More in 'Zeroville'
Movie

Fox would play the love interest of Franco's character while Rogen will be his 'cigar-chomping' mentor.

AceShowbiz - Earlier this week, James Franco posted a cryptic photo of Megan Fox on Instagram and called her "the best." Apparently, it was his way of announcing that the actress is part of his latest movie project.

Franco is starring and directing in the adaptation of the Steve Erickson novel "Zeroville". Set against the backdrop of late 1960s Hollywood, the pic follows a young film-obsessed man who arrives in Hollywood in 1969 as the studios are in decline and independents are rising. As the world around him transforms culturally with sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, he gets his dream job of being a film editor, only to encounter a host of characters ranging from former starlets, burglars and political guerrillas to punk musicians and veteran filmmakers.

Franco will be the main character named Ike Jerome aka Vikar while Fox will be Soledad, the Hollywood starlet with a very troubled past. She becomes his love interest and obsession. Franco also cast Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Dave Franco, Jacki Weaver, Horatio Sanz and Joey King in the film. Rogen will play a young "eccentric, cigar-chomping, surf-hippy" John Milius who helps guide Vikar. Weaver steps in the role of Vikar's mentor and friend, while McBride will be a nefarious financier.

Franco picked up the rights to the film in 2011 but only started shooting recently in California. The title will be introduced to buyers next month at American Film Markets.
