Judge has announced that the 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star will serve her 15-month sentence at Danbury Federal Prison in Connecticut, the same prison which inspired the Netflix hit series.

AceShowbiz - U.S. District Judge Esther Salas announced on Wednesday, October 22 that Teresa Giudice would serve her time behind bars at Danbury Federal Prison in Connecticut, the inspiration of Netflix's hit series "Orange Is the New Black". On the same day, the judge also announced that she would not recommend Teresa to spend most of her prison time at a halfway house.

Teresa's new attorney, Stacy Ann Biancamano, previously asked for a recommendation from Esther to allow the star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" to serve 12 of her 15-month sentence at a halfway house, where she would be able to work and visit home on the weekends. The request was opposed by assistant U.S. attorneys Rachael Honig and Jonathan Romankow.

Rachael and Jonathan sent a letter to Esther on Tuesday, writing, "It was clearly not the Court's intention at the sentencing in this matter to sentence defendant to serve all or virtually all of her sentence in a halfway house."

"The Court made detailed, express findings on the record about the need to sentence defendant to jail," they added, "To amend the judgment now to include a recommendation of 12 months in a halfway house would be to undercut all of these findings completely."

Teresa, who was previously dropped by her crisis manager because of her request to serve her sentence at Danbury Federal Prison, is due to surrender by January 5. Her husband, Joe Giudice, will serve his 41-month sentence later so at least one parent can be at home for their four children.
