Tom Welling, Maggie Grace and More Cast in Nicholas Sparks' 'The Choice'

AceShowbiz - Former "Smallville" star Tom Welling scored a role in the movie adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' 2007 novel "The Choice". He will be joined in the drama by Alexandra Daddario, Maggie Grace and Tom Wilkinson who are also newly announced.

Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer have previously been cast in the lead roles as Travis and Gabby who first met as neighbors in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen. It spans a decade and traces the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life's most defining events.

According to Deadline, Welling is placed in the role of Kevin McCarthy, a doctor at his father's practice who is Gabby's boyfriend. The triangle plays out over the course of a decade in North Carolina. Wilkinson will play Dr. Shep while Grace will take the role of Travis' sister, Stephanie. Daddario's role is kept under wraps.

Ross Katz is directing from a screenplay by Bryan Sipe. Sparks, Theresa Park and Peter Safran are producing the film, which is Nicholas Sparks Productions debut indie feature. No release date has been announced yet.
