Steve Carell and Gore Verbinski Team Up for Paranoid Thriller
Movie

Verbinski will direct Carell in the film which script is provided by 'The Pursuit of Happyness' scribe Steve Conrad.

AceShowbiz - From comedy to drama, Steve Carell is now trying his hands at a thriller. The "The Office" actor has come on board an untitled paranoid thriller that will be directed by "Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End" helmer Gore Verbinski.

The thriller will start production in March. The script was written by Steve Conrad who wrote "The Pursuit of Happyness" and "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty". Plot details are not yet revealed.

The project will be the first in a multiyear deal between Verbinski's Blind Wink and New Regency. He will direct two more films back-to-back; the horror movie "A Cure for Wellness" and an action-comedy "Passengers". Conrad also wrote the script for the latter movie.

Carell is fresh off his performance in "Foxcatcher" and is getting an Oscar buzz for the role. Verbinski's last directorial project was "The Lone Ranger" which was somehow a disappointment at the box office.
