Dave Bautista is reportedly set to appear in the third 'Avengers' film, sparking rumor about a crossover between 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

AceShowbiz - Marvel is planning a crossover between Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers. According to wrestling site PWMania, Dave Bautista who plays Drax the Destroyer in "Guardians of the Galaxy" is expected to reprise his role in "The Avengers 3".

Marvel is allegedly in the process of restructuring Bautista's contract due to the success of James Gunn's flick. The multi-picture deal reportedly includes "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" and a "significant role" in the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" sequel.

Although "Guardians" director James Gunn ruled out bringing a new human hero to the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the next installment, he did confirm there were discussions for a Guardians/Avengers team-up.

"We talked about all sorts of possibilities [for a crossover] and I kind of know what the basic plan is. That could or could not include a couple of Avengers and a couple of Guardians meeting up, or all of the Avengers and all of the Guardians. But, we do inhabit the same universe and they're pretty big personalities that are likely to, at some point or another, run into each other," he said.
