The producer of CW's 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' are adapting a new story of the DC Comics superhero.

AceShowbiz - Supergirl is coming to small screen. Warner Bros. Television has hired Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler to adapt the DC Comics superhero for a potential TV series.

Berlanti has been DC's go-to guy for TV adaptations. He has overlooked The CW's "Arrow" and the upcoming "The Flash" with Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim. Adler previously worked with Berlanti on ABC's superhero dramedy "No Ordinary Family".

Other details regarding the project are still under wrap because it's still in the early development stages. DC's Geoff Johns, who produced "Arrow" and "The Flash", is expected to have play a part in the project. Berlanti is on board to produce under his Berlanti Productions banner. THR reported that the project will be taken out to major networks soon and will not be called "Supergirl".

In the comic books, Supergirl is a cousin to the Man of Steel who shares his super powers and vulnerability to Kryptonite. The television adaptation is expected to bring a new light into the character and her story.
