Kendrick Lamar Sued for $1M Over Illegal Sample on 'Rigamortis'
Music

Jazz musicians Eric Reed and Willie Jones III claim that the Compton rapper's hit 'Rigamortis' is a rip-off of their 2010 song called 'The Thorn'.

AceShowbiz - Kendrick Lamar has been accused of featuring illegal sample on one of his tracks. TMZ has reported that jazz musicians Eric Reed and Willie Jones III are suing the rapper, claiming he stole their 2010 song called "The Thorn" for his "Rigamortis".

In their lawsuit, Reed and Jones say Lamar took their music and simply added his own lyrics for the hit from his 2011 album "Section .80". The duo insists that " 'The Thorn' isn't merely part of 'Rigamortis' ... IT IS 'Rigamortis'."

Reed and Jones claim they never received any credit or monetary compensation for the song that helped Lamar rise to stardom. They are seeking at least $1 million, as well as all profits and rights to "Rigamortis".

In happier Lamar news, Flying Lotus has just debuted a collaboration with the Compton MC. Titled "Never Catch Me", the track will appear in the L.A. rapper's new album "You're Dead".
