Some fans apparently misread the headline of a satirical news article about the star of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' dying her hair.

AceShowbiz - Betty White has fallen victim to a death hoax after some fans apparently misread a headline in a satirical piece. On Wednesday, September 3, White's agent assured fans that the actress was fine, telling L.A. Times, "She is on the set shooting 'Hot in Cleveland' right now."

Reports about the 92-year-old star's passing were caused by a satirical piece which reads, "Actress Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home." The article features an alleged interview with her manager as well as the actress, who is popular for her appearances on TV programs such as "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Golden Girls", talking about dying her hair blonde.

"Oh, I started dying it ages ago when my color started to fade away to a more whiteish, greyish color," she was quoted as saying. "I thought to myself, 'Well Betty, if you can't have the dark color anymore, might as well try on the blonde for a while,' and it just kind of stuck. When I played Rose on Girls, the joke about my natural hair color made it into several episodes. I've always had a sense of humor about it."

White currently takes part on TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland". In addition to White, it stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.
