Angelo Bertolotti calls 'The Brittany Murphy Story' completely untrue and attacks the actress playing his daughter.

AceShowbiz - Brittany Murphy's father speaks out against Lifetime's biopic of his daughter, saying he's "disgusted and outraged" by the project. Angelo Bertolotti was particularly angry on how he was portrayed as an absent father in "The Brittany Murphy Story" and how his ex-wife Sharon was seen as the late actress' primary parent.

"I am disgusted and outraged that Lifetime decided to produce such a trashy project, defiling the memory of my beautiful, talented daughter," Bertolotti told Examiner. " 'The Brittany Murphy Story' is an affront to everything my daughter was in real life. It's hideous, unauthorized and completely untrue."

He was also not keen on Amanda Fuller, the actress playing his daughter in the movie. "Lifetime's casting was atrocious," he said. "The girl playing Brittany looks absolutely nothing like her. Everyone looks ridiculous in their bad wigs and the dialogue is nauseating."

Bertolotti also attacked Fuller via Twitter, saying, "My daughter #brittanymurphy would be horrified to know who they chose to play her and how cheap it all is." Fuller later defended herself, telling The TV Page, "It is what it is. All of our hearts were in the right place. I had two days to prepare. "

Bertolotti previously revealed his intention to sue Lifetime over the unauthorized biopic. The network is still in plan to premiere it on September 6.

Murphy died in December 2009 out of "pneumonia, with secondary factors of iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication." Bertolotti was reportedly estranged from her at the time of the death.
