The 'Mean Girls' actress is reportedly seeking hypnotherapy to quit smoking prior to making her debut in David Mamet's play 'Speed-the-Plow' later this month.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan is reportedly seeking hypnotherapy to give up smoking. The actress and co-producer of "The Canyons" wanted to treat her nicotine addiction before she performs in David Mamet's play, "Speed-the-Plow", from September 24 to November 29 at the Playhouse Theatre in London.

A source told The Sun newspaper, "Lindsay knows that all eyes will be on her and she's worried that if she really starts to crave nicotine when on stage, it'll put her off. Plus, she doesn't want to be wheezing while she's treading the boards. Some people may not believe in the powers of hypnosis or think it's all about swinging a watch about, but Lindsay is willing to try anything to make sure she's a hit."

Lindsay previously hoped her West End debut would help her change her image. Last July, she told BBC News, "I want to be known for my talents and my work that I create, rather than a tabloid sensation. However long it does take, I'm willing to do it. I'm willing to work for it."

When asked if she would miss any shows or rehearsals of the play, Lindsay said, "That's not going to happen. That's not on the cards. It's not. I'm at a place in my life where I like the commitment. I'm looking forward to that part of it."

Lindsay returned to rehab for the sixth time last year. At that time, she told Oprah Winfrey that she was addicted to cocaine.
