The Colosseum, which has been trying to find new acts to temporarily replace Celine Dion, backs out after the country couple asked for $1.25 million for three shows.

AceShowbiz - Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have rejected a lucrative deal to play a one-week Las Vegas residency. TMZ reported that the country duo was offered $1 million to play only three shows at Caesars Palace, but the venue decided to back out after the couple asked for $1.25 million.

Shelton and Lambert followed in the footsteps of Mariah Carey and the late Robin Williams, who also turned down similar 6-figure offers to perform at the Colosseum stage back in 2013 and 2012 respectively.

Caesars Palace has been trying to find new acts to temporarily replace Celine Dion, who will be taking an indefinite break from her longtime residency at the venue to take care of her ailing husband. "I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," she said in a statement issued in early August.

Recently, TMZ reported that Carey's once again eyed to play the Caesars Palace. The newly-single superstar was said to have been offered $750,000 for two shows there. Adele, Prince and Bruce Springsteen were other names considered to fill Dion's shoes.
