The 53-year-old actor seemingly still had lingering effects of his injury after injuring his spinal cord while filming 'Syriana' almost ten years ago.

AceShowbiz - George Clooney went to a hospital in Dusseldorf, Germany to get his back injury checked in early August, E! Online reported. According to the site, the "Ocean's Thirteen" actor has now returned to Italy.

George periodically loses his spinal fluid after injuring his spinal cord when filming "Syriana" back in 2005. In order to tend the injury, the "Gravity" actor should get a routine check-up if needed.

Back in 2011, George told Rolling Stone magazine that he considered suicide because of the injury. "I was at a point where I thought, 'I can't exist like this. I can't actually live,' " the star of "The Monuments Men" shared, "I was lying in a hospital bed with an IV in my arm, unable to move, having these headaches where it feels like you're having a stroke, and for a short three-week period, I started to think, 'I may have to do something drastic about this.' "

He continued, "You start to think in terms of, you don't want to leave a mess, so go in the garage, go in the car, start the engine. It seems like the nicest way to do it, but I never thought I'd get there. See, I was in a place where I was trying to figure out how to survive."

George can be seen in upcoming movie "Tomorrowland". He stars along with Brittany Robertson, Hugh Laurie and Kathryn Hahn. The sci-fi action movie will be released in the U.S. on May 22, 2015.
