For their fifth studio effort, the band works again with hitmakers Max Martin and Benny Blanco who were responsible for their hugely successful 2012 album 'Overexposed'.

AceShowbiz - This has been a big year for Adam Levine. First of all, the musician got married to his Victoria's Secret model sweetheart Behati Prinsloo. Now, he and his Maroon 5 bandmates are gearing up to release their fifth studio effort, "V" (pronounced "Five").

The LP sees the return of keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, who took a break from the band in early 2012. The new project also finds Levine and Co. reuniting with hitmakers Max Martin and Benny Blanco who previously created the group's hugely successful "Overexposed" album.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," Levine told Los Angeles Times of working with those producers again. "Honestly, it's a huge relief for me, because for a long time it felt like making an album was this daunting task and I had to be at the center of it. It wasn't fun anymore."

"I was trying to control it all. But if you want to be a band that's going to be around for 20 or 30 years, you're going to have to change what you do at some point. We developed a really nice system on the last record - we found songs we were passionate about and put our stamp on them - and I think we all started to enjoy ourselves in the studio. This time we kept it going but looked for different types of songs."

"V" has been preceded by lead single "Maps" that peaked at No. 6 on Billboard Hot 100's top 10 (record), second single "Animals" and promotional track "It Was Always You". Gwen Stefani is making a guest appearance on the album. She joins the band for a sweet duet called "My Heart Is Open" that was co-penned by Sia Furler.

After the album arrives, Maroon 5 will head to the iTunes Festival at The Roundhouse in London. They're set to headline the month-long event on September 11. Later in the month, Levine will reprise his role as a coach in the seventh season of "The Voice" alongside Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Stefani.
