The Sunday, August 31 event, which was supposed to feature headliners like Kaskade and Alesso, got axed after a flash flood warning was issued in the New York City area.

AceShowbiz - "Extreme weather conditions" have prompted organizers to axe the third and final day of the Electric Zoo Festival at Randall's Island, New York. The cancellation was announced shortly before the event was slated to begin and when concertgoers were already at the venue.

"@ElectricZooNY has shut down for the remainder of the festival due to extreme weather conditions," they tweeted on Sunday, August 31. "We apologize to fans, but your safety is our main concern. Please follow all NYPD and #EZoo security instructions. Thank you!"

A flash flood warning was issued in the New York City area just before the festival was halted. The organizers went on saying that there'd still be no re-entry even if the weather conditions improved.

The Sunday set was supposed to feature performances from Kaskade, Chase & Status, Bingo Players and Alesso among others. Following the cancellation, Kaskade jokingly tweeted, "Ummmmmm. No. I just have one question.... Soooooo...... Who has the keys to @barclayscenter???" Alesso also expressed his disappointment, tweeting, "I can't believe this!! I was so looking forward to playing Sunday night."

The final day of last year's Electric Zoo was also canceled after two fans died of drugs overdose. Security was tightened by organizers to prevent the same accident from happening again this year.
