Joan's daughter Melissa Rivers says, 'We are keeping our fingers crossed' while thanking fans and friends for the continued love and support.

AceShowbiz - Joan Rivers' daughter Melissa Rivers issued another new statement after a report suggested that the comedienne was put on life support. She says the family remains hopeful that Joan could take turn for the better and make a recovery.

"Thank you for your continued love and support," Melissa stated without confirming or denying whether the 81-year-old star was indeed hooked on the machines to stay alive. The daughter concluded her brief statement, "We are keeping our fingers crossed."

Joan was rushed to the Mount Sinai Hospital Thursday, August 28 after going into cardiac arrest during a throat surgery. Doctors put her in a medically induced coma as they attempted to assess the damage. Love, prayers, and get-well wishes were pouring in from friends and colleagues including her "Fashion Police" co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos.
