The streaming service has scored the rights to NBC's hit drama series in a lucrative deal.

AceShowbiz - Netflix has acquired exclusive streaming rights to "The Blacklist" in a hefty price. Reports say the giant streaming service pays $2 million per episode of the drama starring three-time Emmy-winning actor James Spader. The first season of the show will debut on Netflix September 7.
The $2 million per-episode fee is believed to be the biggest sum paid by a subscription-based video-on-demand company for a television show. Netflix previously paid $1.35 million per episode for "The Walking Dead".
"The Blacklist" was a breakout hit on NBC when it debuted last fall, becoming the No. 1 drama in the 18-49 demo in broadcast television last season. The procedural series will return with its second season Monday, September 22 at 10 P.M., following "The Voice" premiere. The network has announced that it will air an episode of the show in the coveted post-Super Bowl timeslot in 2015.
