'People been waiting on this album and I'm just at the point in my life and stuff to have my mom on there,' the rapper says of featuring her mother on his new album's cover art.

AceShowbiz - Lil Wayne's highly-anticipated album, "Tha Carter V", finally has an official release date. The rapper took to ESPN's "SportsCenter" on Thursday, August 14 to announce that the long-awaited project would arrive on October 28.

He also unveiled the LP's cover art on the show. Using the same theme seen in the covers of previous "Tha Carter" albums, the artwork features a much younger version of Weezy posing with his mother, Jacida "Cita" Carter.

Wayne admitted he didn't tell his mom he'd use the photo as the cover of his album. "I'm sorry moms. I didn't tell her about the picture that I was using for the album cover," he said. "I don't think she's going to be upset but I know personally that she don't really like that picture of herself 'cause she's not looking in the camera."

Although he knew her mother didn't like the picture, Tunechi decided to use it anyway because "it's perfect." "I always go with a baby picture and I wanted to go with one with my mom on it this time," he explained. "This album means a lot to me. People been waiting on this album and I'm just at the point in my life and stuff to have my mom on there. It's more than an accomplishment, it's an achievement."

"Tha Carter V" has so far been preceded by "Krazy", "Believe Me" and "Grindin' ". The latter two are collaborations with tourmate Drake.
