The Emmy producers have less than two weeks to 'figure out what to do in the right, appropriate and meaningful way' to honor the late actor.

AceShowbiz - With less than two weeks before the 66th annual Primetime Emmy Awards takes place, the show's producers are now facing more pressure as they have to prepare a tribute for Robin Williams following the actor's sudden passing earlier this week. Producer Don Mischer doesn't reveal how they will honor the "Mork & Mindy" star, but promises to do it in a "meaningful way."
"With the tragic loss of Robin, we're trying to deal with that and figure out what to do in the right, appropriate and meaningful way," he tells TV Guide. "It's about what can we do to properly remember Robin and create perhaps an emotional moment about Robin, knowing all that he did for all of us who love entertainment and love comedy."
Mischer worked with Williams on various projects in the past, including the short-lived 1977 revival of "Laugh-In" where the comedian starred and HBO's 1982 special "An Evening with Robin Williams". Mischer shares, "We have done at least 30 shows with Robin through the years, going back into the 1980s."
"We all know what Robin meant to the television community and to everyone, and the unique take on comedy that he brought to all of us. It's about what can we do to properly remember Robin and create perhaps an emotional moment about him."
He goes on remembering the Oscar-winning actor, "Robin was constantly surprising us. Robin would come out on stage and go someplace you'd never dreamed he would go. He always had you off-guard. Directors would get nervous about what he was going to do. And he brought so much spontaneity. It was always refreshing." He adds, "He was always ready to devote time to trying to help people. That was a part of who this guy was."
Williams, who passed away Monday, August 11 due to hanging, rose to fame with his role as the alien Mork on 1970s-1980s' sitcom "Mork & Mindy". He went on starring in a number of acclaimed films, such as "Good Morning, Vietnam" (1987), "Dead Poets Society" (1989), "The Fisher King" (1991) and "Good Will Hunting" (1997). He recently returned to the small screen with "The Crazy Ones", which also starred Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The 2014 Emmy Awards will air live coast-to-coast on Monday, August 25 at 8-11 P.M. ET / 5-8 P.M. PT on NBC from the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Seth Meyers is hosting the show, while Matthew McConaughey, Bryan Cranston, Halle Berry and many others have been announced as presenters.
