Barbra Streisand, Jenny McCarthy and More Stars Pay Tribute to Lauren Bacall

In addition to Streisand and McCarthy, Jesse Taylor Ferguson, John Cusack, KISS' Gene Simmons and many other star pay respect to the late legendary actress on Twitter.

AceShowbiz - Hollywood is mourning the death of legendary actress Lauren Bacall who passed away from stroke at the age of 89. Many celebrities such as Barbra Streisand, her co-star in "Mirror Has Two Faces", and Jenny McCarthy, her co-star in 1999's "Diamonds", took to Twitter to pay respects to the actress.

"What a terrible loss for us all. First Robin who was a genius and now Lauren," Streisand said in a statement to media. "It was my privilege to have known her, to have acted with her, and to have directed her. And, most of all, to have had her as a wise and loving friend. She was an original. Even with all those great films we can visit again and again, she will be missed."

McCarthy, meanwhile, addressed the sad news in a Twitter post. "I had the amazing opportunity to work with Lauren Bacall in the movie Diamonds. She was one of a kind. #legend #RIP," she wrote, adding a photo from the movie.

Seth MacFarlane also issued a statement after learning of the sad news, noting that Bacall's final performance was on "Family Guy". He said, "Lauren Bacall's life is a life to be celebrated. I am told her last performance was on Family Guy. For that we are forever honored and privileged. Thank you, Lauren, for teaching us all how to whistle."

Other stars who paid tribute to Bacall in social media include Mia Farrow, John Cusack, KISS' Gene Simmons, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rose McGowan, Alyssa Milano and Kris Jenner. Jesse Tyler Ferguson shared a photo of him and Bacall on Instagram, writing, "Rest in peace Lauren Bacall. I'm honored to have met you. A true class act who will be missed."

Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin recalled a bit of conversation with Bacall in a tweet. "When I told my pal #LaurenBacall I had boyfriend troubles she said 'Men, f**k 'em!' Give 'em hell in heaven Betty RIP," she said.

Bacall passed away on August 12. She previously was married to Humphrey Bogart until his death in 1957 and later was married to Jason Robards, but they called it quits in 1969. She is survived by three children.
