The 'Dexter' alum is set to star in the eight-episode drama which is being shopped to networks.

AceShowbiz - Michael C. Hall is planning his return to the small screen, almost a year after "Dexter" wrapped up. The actor is set to star in Stanley Kubrick's unproduced drama "God Fearing Man".

The project, produced by Entertainment One, is developed as an eight-part miniseries. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hall will take the lead role of Canadian minister Herbert Emerson Wilson, who went on to become one of the best safecrackers and most successful American bank robbers in the early 20th century.

EOne Television executive Michael Rosenberg says, "Kubrick's 'God Fearing Man' presents a larger-than-life story with a complicated protagonist who undergoes a radical transformation. We knew we had to secure a leading man with the immense talent and charisma needed to carry the project, and we were dedicated to putting in the diligent time and effort to find the perfect fit."

He continues commenting on Hall's involvement, "We cannot be more pleased to have Michael on board, who has time and again demonstrated an uncanny ability to portray captivating characters who must grapple with fundamental internal struggles."

Hall and Bill Kelman will executive produce the drama, which is being shopped to networks.

After "Dexter" ended its run on Showtime, Hall appeared in drama movie "Kill Your Darlings" which also stars Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan. His latest film "Cold in July" was premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

There have been talks about a possible "Dexter" spin-off, but Showtime entertainment president David Nevins said that it would only happen if Hall's willing to return.
