Michael Uslan unveils that Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader in the 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is in 'his mid-40s.'

AceShowbiz - A new tidbit on "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is revealed while the official plot of the upcoming movie is still kept under tight wraps. In an interview with the Ashbery Park Press, executive producer Michael Uslan opens up how old Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne is in the "Man of Steel" sequel.
"We've been through this I don't know how many times already. Every time a director makes a creative, out-of-the-box-thinking decision on casting, it tends to get this. I remember even the 'Iron Man' guys got it on Robert Downey Jr. initially," Uslan said as quoted by ComicBookMovie.
"Of course, we got it intensely when another genius, Chris Nolan, chose Heath Ledger to play the Joker (in 'The Dark Knight'). And it was a huge outcry: 'How can a guy who just played a gay cowboy (in 'Brokeback Mountain') play the Joker? You're going to destroy the greatest villain ever, this is going to be a laugh.' "
The producer added, "So, this has happened time and again, and it happened with Affleck. To go back to the original thought of Bruce Wayne in his mid-40s, I think he's going to be extraordinary."
Directed by Zack Snyder, the film was originally due May 6, 2016 but now has been moved to March 25, 2016 to avoid a stiff competition against Marvel's "Captain America 3". Henry Cavill is back as Superman, Gal Gadot is cast as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg is tapped as Lex Luthor.
Snyder himself once said of Affleck's casting, "[Affleck] has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne."
