Beyonce to Perform at MTV VMAs and Receive Video Vanguard Award

The 'Drunk in Love' hitmaker, who's up for eight awards at the upcoming event, is joining the likes of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Madonna as a recipient of the coveted award.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles is going to have a big night at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. MTV announced on Thursday, August 7 that not only would the diva be among performers at the event but she'd also receive the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, joining previous honorees like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Madonna and Jacko himself.

Beyonce leads the nominations of this year's VMAs with eight. She's competing against fellow nominees in various categories including Video of the Year for her collaboration with Jay-Z "Drunk in Love", Best Female Video for "Partition" and Best Direction for "Pretty Hurts".

The former Destiny's Child member is no stranger to taking the stage at the annual awards show. She previously sang "Baby Boy/Crazy in Love" in 2003, "Ring the Alarm" in 2006, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" in 2009 and "Love on Top" in 2011.

The forthcoming VMAs will also features performances from 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift and Usher. The show will air live on MTV on August 24 at 09:00 P.M. from The Forum in Inglewood, California.
