Warner Bros. Home Entertainment includes 25 minutes of Bilbo Baggins' never-before-seen adventure into the Blu-ray version.

AceShowbiz - Extra scenes that did not make it to the theater version of "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" will be available on the Blu-ray edition. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will add 25 minutes of extended cut scenes to the 161 minutes film when the Blu-ray is released on November 4.
"The Smaug movie, we've got 25 or 26 minutes of pretty good stuff for that DVD," director Peter Jackson said in a recent Deadline interview. "The first one, there wasn't that much we left on the cutting room floor and it wasn't earth shattering. But this is worthwhile stuff that you haven't seen before."
A clip released by Yahoo! Movie from the extended version captures a scene where the traveling pack needs to cross the Enchanted River. Bilbo leads the way by swinging through the branches and discovers that the river makes him drowsy. One of the dwarfs falls victim to it.
The extended version will also be available for purchase through digital retailers in late October. The Blu-ray will also feature more than nine hours of bonus features such as audio commentary from Jackson and a documentary focusing on various aspects of the film and the trilogy.
