Lucy Hale Recalls Very Sexual 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Audition
Movie

The 25-year-old tried out for the role of Anastasia Steele in the movie based on E.L. James' erotic novel series.

AceShowbiz - Lucy Hale was among the actresses who tried out for the challenging role of Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey". The "Pretty Little Liars" star revealed that the audition for the BDSM-themed movie was nothing but sexually charged.

"That audition was so uncomfortable!" she told the September issue of Cosmopolitan. "It's exactly what you thought it would be: a big monologue but very, very sexual ...there were some things that I was so embarrassed to be reading out loud, but it's one of those things where you have to commit wholeheartedly or you're going to make a fool of yourself."

Hale did not get the part and it went to Dakota Johnson instead. In an interview with Elle magazine earlier this year, Johnson also revealed how NC-17 the audition was. She was asked to perform a monologue from Ingmar Bergman's "Persona" that included such phrases as "sperm shooting inside of me" and "I came over and over".

"I don't have any problem doing anything," Johnson said. "The secret is I have no shame." She was also subject to steamy screen test with Charlie Hunnam who was originally attached to the role of Christian Grey. "It was kind of brutal," Johnson recalled. "I was calling every day, being like, 'What the fuck is going on?' Toward the end, it was like, 'I either I have this part or I'm an asshole'."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" will hit theaters on February 14, 2015 with Jamie Dornan playing Grey.
