'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' Moves on With Lily James, Sam Riley
Movie

The novel adaptation project that became stagnant last year will begin filming this fall with a set of new cast.

AceShowbiz - The long in-development "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is coming back to life with the casting of Lily James, Sam Riley and Bella Heathcote. After several production delays and casting changes, the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's remix novel will start shooting in September.

Back in May 2013, it was revealed that Lily Collins was tapped to play the lead with Burr Steers as director. Plans have changed. Collins is out of the picture while Steers is still on board to direct the film. The helmer polished the script originally written by David O. Russell.

James will now play Elizabeth Benneth, starring opposite Riley as Mr. Darcy. Heathcote is to play Elizabeth's sister. Described as an expanded version of the Austen classic, the book tells the timeless story of a woman's quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers.

Natalie Portman was once attached to the role of Elizabeth but she bowed out and stayed as producer instead. After that, Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone and Blake Lively were linked to the role before Collins was announced as the winner.
