'Snow White and the Huntsman' Announces Prequel, Gets Release Date
Movie

Simply titled 'The Huntsman', the prequel will have Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron reprising their roles from the first film.

AceShowbiz - "Snow White and the Huntsman" gets a second movie. Instead of a sequel, this second installment of the franchise will be a prequel that will reveal how the fates of two characters, Eric the Huntsman and Ravenna, intersected before they met Snow White.

Kristen Stewart won't return to this new movie simply titled "The Huntsman", but Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron are confirmed to reprise their roles as the titular character and a witch who would later become the evil queen.

Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption", "The Green Mile") directs and wrote the current draft of the script drafted by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos. Joe Roth ("Maleficent", "Alice in Wonderland") will serve as a producer.

The movie is scheduled by Universal to arrive in U.S. theaters on April 22, 2016, moving "The Mummy" from the same studio out of the way. The monster remake to be directed by Alex Kurtzman now occupies a new slot on June 24, 2016.
