The 'Super Bass' hitmaker will voice Sugilite, a super-strong fusion of Garnet and Amethyst, on the Cartoon Network show, while the new Marvel Animation project will air on Disney XD.

AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj has landed a guest-starring role on an animated show. The raptress is set to lend her voice to a character on Cartoon Network's "Steven Universe". She will be featured in the episode titled "Coach Steven" which is scheduled to air on Thursday August 21 at 6:30/5:30c.

The Young Money femcee will play Sugilite, a super-strong fusion of Garnet and Amethyst, two of the show's magically powered "gems" who help protect the world. According to TV Guide, the character will be the latest motivation for young and enthusiastic Steven on his quest to become a fully powered guardian of humanity. Sugilite is deemed "a little unstable."

A preview of the episode was screened at Comic-Con and has landed online with the site. It sees Sugilite getting out of control as she shows off her power.

In another report from TV animation world, Marvel Animation has announced that "Guardians of the Galaxy" will get an animated series. The news comes just days before the release of the movie version in U.S. theaters on August 1.

A trailer for the new project was revealed at Comic-Con, mainly fosucing on Rocket Raccoon and Star Lord. The show is expected to debut this fall on Disney XD, but the exact premiere date isn't known yet.

Marvel Animation additionally shared footage from the new seasons of "Marvel's Avengers Assemble", "Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.", and "Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors" at the annual convention. The three shows will return with new episodes this fall.
