The 'Weeds' alumna will play a recurring role of Naomi Highland, who is 'completely tied to Reddington', on the NBC show.

AceShowbiz - "The Blacklist" announced major casting news at the San Diego Comic-Con. The show has tapped Mary-Louise Parker for a recurring role in season 2. The former "Weeds" star will play Naomi Highland, who is described as "tied inextricably to Reddington."
Regarding the burning question of Reddington's real relationship with Elizabeth Keen, EP/creator Jon Bokenkamp said, "The question of who is Reddington to Elizabeth Keen is the central conceit to the show, but we're really not going to answer that."
James Spader, who got big applause from the crowd when he showed up in room 6A of the San Diego Convention Center, added, "Whatever that relationship is between Elizabeth Keene and Raymond Reddington is not the most significant question to be answered. What the show is about-and it creeps up on you-is: What is the nature of their relationship now?"
"The real relationship is their present relationship. Destinations aren't enough. The ultimate answer should be that looking backwards," he continued. The lead actor additionally promised that in season 2 "we start to learn little bit more about Reddington and his mythological history."
NBC gave "The Blacklist", which will return with its second season on September 22, the post-Super Bowl slot next year before moving it to Thursdays at 9 P.M. Bob Greenblatt said that the Super Bowl episode and the next episode would be a two-part arc.
There's no sneak peek from the upcoming installment shared during the panel, but NBC handed out black fedora and Blacklist T-shirts, Reddington's trademark outfit, to fans at the convention.
