The stars were 'dancing' and 'swirling' at a gala hosted by The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation which was held to raise money for environmental causes.

AceShowbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio threw a star-studded party in summer hotspot Saint-Tropez, France, on Wednesday, July 23 to raise money for his namesake foundation. Celebrities such as Selena Gomez and new BFF Cara Delevingne, Bono, Robin Thicke, and Marion Cotillard attended the foundation's first-ever annual gala.

Jared Leto helped co-hosting the event. He seemed to be having a lot of fun with Cara and Selena as they danced to Robin's performance. "At one point, Jared was dancing with Cara Delevingne and Selena Gomez when Robin Thicke was singing- he was twirling them around and whispering in their ears and laughing," a guest at the gala told Us Weekly, "everyone had such an amazing time."

Bono, who also has a home in France, performed "Stand By Me" with Julian Lennon and auctioned his guitar for $1 million. Leo offered two walk-on roles in one of his next films, which was sold for a total of $2.4 million. The highest bid for the night was for a Damien Hirst sculpture which was sold for $6 million.

Leo, who was accompanied by his girlfriend Toni Garrn, delivered a passionate speech in front of the audience, "Today we stand at the 11th Hour- facing a tipping point of environmental crises unprecedented in human history. Not since the age of the dinosaurs have so many species of plants and animals become extinct in such a short period of time."

"We must now make an effort to protect the rich biodiversity that could allow nature to eventually recover," he continued, "The good news is there are solutions to these massive problems. Efforts like tonight will start addressing them."

At the end of the gala, the foundation raised $25 million. "It was one of the best parties I've been to. Leonardo was really enjoying himself and so happy that he raised so much money for his foundation," the guest said.
