AceShowbiz - Duran Duran has released a statement after filing a lawsuit against Worldwide Fan Clubs, Inc. which runs their fan club. The "Girls on Film" hitmaker assures that they won't bring their devotees to court despite the lawsuit.
"Duran Duran value and respect their many fans around the world and feel compelled to correct the media's misrepresentation of its lawsuit against Worldwide Fan Clubs, Inc," so the message posted on the band's official website reads. "The Band emphatically states that the lawsuit is not against its loyal fans but simply seeks to protect its rights against the company that formerly managed its fan club."
"Duran Duran have now brought their official fan community in-house and continue to make every effort to provide the highest level of service," they add.
Earlier this week, Duran Duran filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court, accusing Worldwide Fan Clubs, Inc. of breaching contract and failing to pay them promised revenue. According to reports, the English rcok band entered into an agreement with the company in 2010 to give it the rights to manage their official fan club. As part of the deal, the band would get 75|percent| of the profits from the merchandise sales and memberships.
The band is currently working on a new album to follow up their 2010 "All You Need Is Now".
