A judge has ruled against her ex-husband Jeffrey Tarpley's request of temporary physical custody and says that Shepherd will retain the primary physical custody of their son Jeffrey.

AceShowbiz - Sherri Shepherd has won a legal battle over the custody of her 9-year-old son Jeffrey. As reported by PEOPLE, a judge at Los Angeles Superior Court decided on Monday, July 21 that Shepherd would maintain the primary physical custody of the boy. Judge Michelle Williams ruled against her ex-husband's petition, saying that "there has not been a material change in circumstances."

Shepherd's ex-husband Jeffrey Tarpley requested a temporary physical custody on April 2. In his filing, he claimed that the talk show host had been neglecting their son by making "poor parenting choices and [refusing] to provide for our child's immediate needs." He argued that Shepherd's career in entertainment world contributed to her poor parenting skill, saying that her "career is seven days per week non-stop."

On July 21, Shepherd seemingly talked about the court session on Twitter. "Saints...lift me up in prayer please. [Today] I go [to] fight. 'If God be for me then who can be against me?' The Enemy is a liar! #lovebeingamom," she wrote.

She added the next day, "God is good! VICTORY!!! The prayers of the righteous availeth much!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers! #tearfulmama." She also said, "Keep the prayers coming... Still got more battles - please judge me by my character and not from the tabloids who are having a slow news day."
