Simon's representative finally made a response to the previous claims, which said the former 'American Idol' judge was a gay, after Tulisa's drug trial had concluded.

AceShowbiz - Simon Cowell finally made a response to previous claims, which said that he was a gay. Simon's representative issued a statement after Tulisa's drug trial concluded on July 21.

The statement read, "Simon was referred to during the trial without forewarning, resulting in widespread media coverage of untrue claims regarding his private life. In 2014 the question of whether someone is or is not gay is antiquated. (As it happens he isn't, though if he were, he would simply have said so)."

The statement continued, "However, the issue was the false suggestion made by Mr Varey that Simon - who is renowned for his honesty and candidness - had thus not been truthful in the public arena and this is what we have been obliged to clarify."

In a video played during the 26-year-old singer's drug trial last week, Tulisa's manager, Gareth Varey, told the undercover reporter, Mazher Mahmood, that Simon was a gay.

Although Simon has made a response to Gareth's claims, the manager has not made any comments yet.

Tulisa's drug trial collapsed on the same day at Southwark Crown Court. The singer was previously accused of boasting that she could "sort out" cocaine for Mazher and put the undercover reporter in touch with her rapper friend, Mike GLC, who supplied Class A drug.

Alistair McCreath, the judge for Tulisa's trial, told the jury on Monday that the case "cannot go any further" because there were "strong grounds to believe" that Mazher had "lied" at a hearing before Tulisa's trial started.

Tulisa smiled widely in the dock as the jury was discharged from trying her case. She cried after leaving the dock, hugging her supporters, including her manager, after the trial concluded. Mike, who previously pleaded guilty, was also released after the judge said that the case could not proceed against him.
