Del Rey works with Wilson on 'Last Song', the album's 'centerpiece' which has been recorded in two versions with her as the main vocalist in one version.

AceShowbiz - Brian Wilson is planning a new album and he has enlisted a number of A-listers for it. According to Rolling Stone, Lana Del Rey, Kacey Musgraves and Zooey Deschanel are among those who have been working with the musician at Ocean Way Studios in Hollywood.

The songs for Wilson's solo album were initially written for The Beach Boys' new LP. Refusing to shelve the new material after Mike Love pulled the plug on the group's reunion tour, the singer/songwriter teamed up with the girls, and some other singers too, to complete the tracks.

Musgraves' vocals appear in a song called "Guess You Had to Be There" and Deschanel is featured in "On the Island" which has been described as a "space age bossa nova."

Del Rey, meanwhile, contributes to "Last Song", "the album's centerpiece" which was inspired by The Beach Boys' break-up. There's a version with Wilson on lead vocals and an alternate one with Del Rey as the primary vocalist.

Additionally, Wilson has worked with Frank Ocean on "Special Love", which is still not finished and probably will not make the cut to the album. Fun.'s Nate Ruess also joined the veteran singer for another track. "[He] sounds a little like my brother Carl," Wilson said of Ruess in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Wilson's new album is currently still untitled. It's slated for release in fall via Capitol Records.
