The 'American Pie' star told 'losers' who slammed him for posting insensitive jokes about Malaysian Airlines to 'channel' their 'issues elsewhere.'

AceShowbiz - Jason Biggs has been under fire after posting some jokes on Twitter shortly after flight MH17 crashed in the Ukraine with 295 people aboard. On Thursday, July 17, he wrote, "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?"
The airline has suffered two major tragedies this year. First, flight MH370 disappeared somewhere over the Indian Ocean in March. On Thursday, flight MH17 was reportedly shot down by a missile fired from a Buk antiaircraft system. Biggs seemingly thought it was the perfect time to crack a joke.
Shortly after the first joke, he tweeted another message, "In all seriousness, tho- HOW DO YOU MISTAKENLY SHOOT DOWN A COMMERCIAL PLANE?! Ugh." Biggs went on to make sarcastic remarks about Malaysian airline. He tweeted, "It's saddest for the victims and their families, obviously. But Malaysia Airlines is apparently a GREAT airline. Gonna be tough to recover."
Biggs' tweets soon incited outraged. His Twitter followers began criticizing him. One of them asked, "Was your sense of humor on that flight?" Another user wrote, "Too soon, man. Too soon." Another follower added, "Way too soon for a joke like this; families don't even know."
Some of his followers took the insensitivity of the joke very seriously and wrote angry tweets to the "Orange Is the New Black" actor. A follower wrote, "Go f**k a pie you piece of s**t. You're such an attention seeking f**king whore." Another user wrote, "You'd laugh if your kids died in a plane crash?"
Instead of writing an explanation or apology about his previous tweets, the actor responded in anger. He didn't only defend himself, but also hit back at those who criticized him. He wrote, "Hey all you 'too soon' a**holes- it's a f**king joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all." He continued, "The idea that I wouldnt have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right?" He added, "Truly- you losers are literally trying to find s**t to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere."
Biggs also lashed out at TMZ that posted a story about his MH17 joke featuring the actor's face next to the wreckage. He wrote, "Hey @tmz- well done on posting my face next to the wreckage of the plane- you might almost think I actually shot it down!"
Apparently after the criticism got heavier, the actor finally decided to delete his tweets and issue an apology. He wrote on several tweets, " Hey all- ok, so- I am deleting my previous tweets. People were offended, and that was not my intent. Sorry to those of you that were. This is obviously a horrible tragedy, and everyone-including myself- is sad and angry about it. Sending positive thoughts to the victims and their families. P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize."
